A rectovaginal fistula is an abnormal connection between the lower portion of your large intestine — your rectum — and your vagina. Bowel contents can leak through the fistula, allowing gas or stool to pass through your vagina. The condition may cause emotional distress and physical discomfort, which can impact self-esteem and intimacy. Talk with your doctor if you have signs and symptoms of a rectovaginal fistula, even if it's embarrassing.
Colonoscopy (Discharge Care) - What You Need to Know
A colonoscopy is an exam that views the inside of the colon large intestine and rectum, using a tool called a colonoscope. The colonoscope has a small camera attached to a flexible tube that can reach the length of the colon. You will be taken to an area to recover right after the test. You may wake up there and not remember how you got there. Medicines you were given can change the way you think and make it harder to remember for the rest of the day. You will not be allowed to leave alone.
3 days post Colonoscopy, feeling very... - Crohn's and Colit...
I'm 4 days post colonoscopy which I had done on Sunday afternoon. The reason for the colonoscopy was to investigate months and months of stomach pain, and alternating chronic constipation and diarrhea: also passing small amounts of blood and a lot of mucous. My colonoscopy went ok- some parts were very painful- I had sedation and gas and air for the painful parts. During the surgeon noticed lots of "bile" he described in my colon and noted this on the findings. He said he couldn't really detect anything else but took 11 biopsies to check for any issues at a cellular level.
An 8-year-old girl was taken to an outpatient clinic of surgery suffering from rectorrhagia and purulent, smelly vaginal discharge. Colonoscopy and biopsy were done before referring and sulfasalazine regime was administrated for probable colitis. The surgeon performed a rigid rectosigmoidoscopy under general anesthesia and no positive evidence was found.
