Authorities said year-old Sally Selby was charged with theft after officers pulled her over driving in the slow lane on Main Street. Police said she told officers she got the scooter from Walmart and was driving it to Waffle House for coffee. She added she built the cart, but someone had ripped off the lights. Investigators said surveillance video showed her enter the store and was shopping with the scooter, and Walmart employees confirmed the cart belonged to them. She then exited the store with the scooter and drove through the parking lot. Click Here to access the online Public Inspection File.
Woman Steals a Motorized Cart from Walmart and Drives It to Waffle House
Police: Woman stole Walmart scooter to drive to Waffle House
In what can only be described as an amalgam of bad jokes, a Tennessee woman was arrested last Friday after she stole a motorized scooter from Walmart and drove it down the highway to the local Waffle House. I have been scouring the internet for police dash cam footage of the incident but have so far been unsuccessful. Earlier this year, we wrote about the South Carolina stud muffin who cooked his own meal at a Waffle House while the employees slept. And in January we had the now famous incident of the Walmart customer drunk driving a motorized shopping cart while slamming wine out of a Pringles can. That is still my favorite of the year! Somewhat related, check out this awesome motorized pool float I found on Amazon!
Tenn. woman accused of stealing scooter, driving to Waffle House
I love coffee. It tastes so good and gives you that motivation to go on with your daily tasks. But this woman, this woman went to the extreme to get a little cup of joe at 5 am! What was she driving?
By Luke Kenton For Dailymail. A Tennessee woman was so desperate for a cup of coffee, police say she stole an electric shopping scooter from Walmart and attempted to drive to a Waffle House in the early hours of Friday morning. Sally Selby, 45, was arrested on charges of theft after she was pulled over by officers on a highway in Crossville, in the midst of a suspected 5am motorized shopping cart joyride. Less than an hour before, Selby was seen on a surveillance camera entering the Walmart in Obed Plaza, getting into a scooter, and driving around the store with it whilst shopping. According to police, she was then seen driving the scooter out of the front door after 30 minutes where she conducted a brief test-drive in the parking lot.
